Chevrolet Cobalt Service & Repair Manual: Strut Assembly, Replace

Front

1. Remove strut assembly upper mounting nuts.
2. Raise and support vehicle, then remove tire and wheel assembly.
3. Remove stabilizer shaft link to strut assembly retaining nut, then separate shaft link from strut.
4. Remove lower strut to steering knuckle attaching nuts and bolts.
5. Remove strut from vehicle.
6. Reverse procedure to install, noting the following:
  a. Torque wheel lug nuts to 100 ft. lbs.
  b. Torque stabilizer link to strut to 48 ft. lbs.
  c. Torque strut to body nut to 15 ft. lbs.
  d. Torque strut to steering knuckle to 89 ft. lbs.
  e. Torque strut shaft nut to 52 ft. lbs.
