Chevrolet Cobalt Service & Repair Manual: Rotor Replace

Cobalt & Malibu

1. Raise and support vehicle, then remove tire and wheel assembly.
2. Compress piston into caliper bore using suitable C-clamp to allow caliper pivot upward from brake pads.
3. Install and tighten two wheel nuts opposite to retain rotor to hub.
4. Remove guide pin bolts, caliper and bracket.
5. Mark rotor to wheel studs for installation alignment and remove rotor.
6. Reverse procedure to install.

Camaro

1. Raise and support vehicle.
2. Remove tire and wheel assembly.
3. Remove and discard disc brake caliper bracket bolts.Disc brake caliper bracket bolts must be replaced any time they are removed. Do not reuse disc brake caliper bracket bolts.
4. Remove disc brake caliper and bracket assembly and support with heavy mechanics wire or equivalent.
5. Remove disc brake rotor bolt.
6. Remove disc brake rotor.
7. Reverse procedure to install.
