Chevrolet Cobalt Service & Repair Manual: Engine Oil Filter Adapter R&R

Refer to Fig. 1 when performing the following procedure.
1. Place a collecting pan underneath the oil filter.
2. Use tool No. EN-44887 to remove the oil filter cap (1) and seal, Fig. 1.
3. Remove and properly dispose of the oil filter insert (2), Fig. 1.
4. Raise the vehicle.
5. Place a collecting pan underneath the oil drain plug.
6. Remove the oil drain plug (1) and seal (2), Fig. 1.
7. Reverse procedure to install, noting the following:
  a. Torque oil drain plug to 18 ft. lbs.
  b. Torque oil filter cap to 18 ft. lbs.
