A visual inspection must always
be performed to confirm the presence of aftermarket components, potential
collision damage, or areas of concern. |
Ensure battery voltage is greater
than 12 volts prior to and during pinpoint test. |
Caution: Do not have a battery
charger attached during vehicle testing. |

Understand and validate customer concern. |

Isolate systems and component affected. |
3. |
Refer to wiring diagrams to isolate
affected circuits. |
4. |
Visually inspect for obvious signs
of physical damage to wires, connectors, sensors or modules. |
5. |
Ensure all ground connections are tight
and free of corrosion. |
6. |
Inspect fusible links for signs of
overheating. |
7. |
Inspect fuses in interior and underhood
fuse panel. |
8. |
Inspect circuit breakers and relays. |
9. |
Connect a suitably programmed scan
tool to vehicle DLC. |
10. |
Carry out network test. |
11. |
Clear continuous DTCs and carry out
self-test diagnostics for all required vehicle system modules. |
