Front
1. |
Raise and support the vehicle. |
2. |
Remove the tire and wheel assembly. |
3. |
Disconnect the front brake pipe fitting
(1) and cap the brake pipe fitting to prevent brake fluid loss and
contamination, Fig. 1. |
4. |
Remove the front brake hose bracket
bolt (1), Fig. 2. |
5. |
Remove the brake hose fitting bolt
(1), Fig. 3. |
6. |
Remove the brake hose fitting gaskets
(2) from the brake hose (3) and discard the brake hose fitting gaskets. |
7. |
Remove the brake hose. |
8. |
Reverse procedure to install, noting
the following: |

a. |
Torque brake hose fitting bolt
to 30 ft. lbs. |
|
b. |
Torque brake hose bracket bolt
to 18 ft. lbs. |
|
c. |
Torque front brake pipe fitting
to 14 ft. lbs. |
|
Rear
1. |
Raise and support the vehicle. |
2. |
Remove the tire and wheel assembly. |
3. |
Clean all dirt and foreign material
from the brake hose ends and brake pipe fitting. |
4. |
Using a backup wrench on the hose fitting
(2), disconnect the brake pipe fitting (1) from the brake hose.
Cap or plug the brake pipe fitting end and the brake hose end to
prevent fluid loss and contamination, Fig. 4. |
5. |
Remove the brake hose retaining clip
(3) from the hose mounting bracket. |
6. |
Remove the hose from the mounting bracket. |
7. |
Remove the brake hose fitting bolt
(1) from the brake caliper, Fig. 5. |
8. |
Remove the copper brake hose gaskets
(2) from the brake hose (3), and discard the copper brake hose gaskets. |
9. |
Cap or plug the opening in the brake
caliper and the brake hose (3) to prevent fluid loss and contamination. |
10. |
Reverse procedure to install, noting
the following: |

a. |
Torque brake hose assembly to
the brake caliper to 35 ft. lbs. |
|
b. |
Torque brake pipe fitting to
15 ft. lbs. |

Caution: Brake fluid may irritate
