Chevrolet Cobalt Service & Repair Manual: Rear Side Door

Removal

1. Disable Supplemental Inflatable Restraint (SIR) system.
2. Disconnect battery ground cable.
3. Remove rear door trim panel.
4. Remove water deflector.
5. Remove rear side door check link bolt. (2).
6. Disconnect electrical connector, if equipped.
7. Support door before removing hinge bolts (1) & (3), Fig. 1.
8. With aid of an assistant, remove door.
9. When replacing door it is required to transfer all internal components.

Installation

1. When replacing door it is required to transfer all of internal components.
2. With aid of assistant, support door and carefully align hinges to hinge pillar.
3. Install hinge to door frame bolts (1) & (3), Fig. 1.Torqueto 26 ft. lbs.
4. Connect electrical connector, if equipped.
5. Install front side door check link bolt (2). Torque to 15 ft. lbs.
6. Install water deflector.
7. Install front door trim panel.
8. Connect battery ground cable.
9. Enable Supplemental Inflatable Restraint (SIR) system.
