Chevrolet Cobalt Service & Repair Manual: Rear Bumper Fascia

Removal

1. Remove tail lamps and side marker lamps.
2. Remove license lamp.
3. Remove rear wheel liners as outlined in Rear Wheelhouse Panel Liner.
4. Remove rear bumper fascia upper retainers (1), Fig. 1.
5. Remove rear bumper fascia tail lamp pocket screw (2).
6. Remove rear bumper fascia bolts inside wheelwells (3).
7. Remove rear bumper fascia retainers (4).
8. Pull sides of rear fascia (5) at quarter panel to release fascia from brackets and remove.

Installation

1. Carefully position rear fascia (5) to vehicle ensuring that fascia is seated in brackets on quarter panels, Fig. 2.
2. Install rear bumper lower fascia retainers (4).
3. Install bolts to fascia inside wheelwell (3). Torque to 22 inch lbs.
4. Install rear bumper fascia tail lamp pocket screws (2).
5. Install rear bumper fascia upper retainers (1).
6. Install rear wheel liners as outlined in Rear Bumper Fascia.
7. Install license lamp.
8. Install tail lamps and side marker lamps.
