Component Replacement

Ignition Control Module (ICM)

1. Remove accelerator cable from bracket.
2. Remove accelerator cable bracket bolt and bracket.
3. Disconnect ignition control module harness connector.
4. Remove ignition control module retaining screws, then the module from ignition coil housing, Fig. 1.
5. Reverse procedure to install.

Ignition Coil Housing

1. Remove accelerator and cruise control cables from bracket.
2. Remove bracket.
3. Remove ignition control module.
4. Remove ignition coil housing retaining bolts, then the coil housing from camshaft cover, Fig. 2.
5. Reverse procedure to install.

Crankshaft Position (CKP) Sensor

1. Raise and support vehicle.
2. Disconnect starter motor electrical connectors from starter.
3. Remove starter motor mounting bolts, then the starter.
4. Disconnect Crankshaft Position (CKP) sensor harness connector.
5. Remove CKP sensor retaining bolt, then the sensor, Fig. 3.
6. Reverse procedure to install.

Knock Sensor

1. Raise and support vehicle.
2. Disconnect starter motor electrical connectors from starter.
3. Remove starter motor mounting bolts, then the starter.
4. Disconnect knock sensor wiring harness connector.
5. Remove knock sensor from engine block, Fig. 4.
6. Reverse procedure to install. Torque knock sensor 12-16 ft. lbs.
